Your Committe are delighted to announce that Major General Arthur Denaro CBE DL has accepted our invitation to be Guest of Honour at this years Oswestry Reunion

General Denaro started his army career in 1968 commissioned into Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars. He rose through the ranks being promoted to Lieutenant in 1970 to Captain in 1974 and to Major in 1980. He was 2IC 22 SAS and also went on to be Commandant at RMAS . He led his Regiment in Gulf 1 and commanded the first tank battle. Major General Denaro went on to in 1992 command 33rd Armoured Brigade and 20th Armoured Brigade before serving as Chief of Staff of UN Protection Force in Bosnia. He also commanded British Forces in Cyprus and was Chief of Combat Support for The allied Rapid Reaction Force in Germany in 1966/67 . After work as Middle East Advisor to The Secretary of State for Defence in 1998 he became Commandant of RMAS. From 2000 to 2003 he commanded 5th Division before retireing from service. General Denaro was awarded a CBE and is also Deputy Lieutenant of Herefordshire.
